• We are currently working collaboratively with Midwifery and Women’s health forums to develop guidelines for nurses, midwives, registered nursing associate to best support women who have experienced early pregnancy loss.
• Joint meetings with representatives from BFS and SING continue in order to enhance collaboration and engagement in workstreams.
• We are currently planning our Fertility Nursing National Conference for Thursday October 2025.
• We are working updating our guidance on Transitions from Fertility to Maternity Care

• Read our Fertility Nursing Forum Annual Report 2024. 
• Male factor fertility. Male factor fertility is important, and all nurses and midwives should have a good understanding of the influences and the factors that can impact fertility, especially as they may often be the first point of contact for patients when they have questions. 
• Ultrasound Scanning in Fertility Care. This guidance has been developed to support best practice for nurses working at advanced level practice on performing and reporting on ultrasound scanning, specially in fertility care. 
• Advanced practice for Fertility Nurses. This competency document is intended to support best practice across the fertility nursing sector, by articulating key skills required to be an advanced level practitioner.
• Fertility care provision for the UK (2023). This updated publication details the 九游体育’s position on the provision of fertility treatment in the UK.
• Transitions from Fertility to Maternity Care (2022). This guidance is primarily to raise awareness of possible pathways of care for women and others (their partners/support networks) as they travel through fertility treatment and pregnancy, and how they can best be supported by the health care professionals they encounter along their journey.                                     
• An 九游体育 Education and Career Progression Framework for Fertility Nursing (2024). This is a comprehensive framework highlighting recommended education and training pathways toward career development for fertility nursing. It can be used to facilitate a conversation and enable career development for all nurses and HCSWs in fertility services. • Fertility Preservation: 九游体育 guidance for nursing staff [2024]. This publication provides information and guidance for nurses who are supporting and caring for those beginning treatment for potentially life-limiting diseases and those who may wish, for non-medical reasons, to defer having children until later in life.
• Fertility care and emotional wellbeing (2023). This guidance has been developed as a resource for all health care professionals in all areas of fertility care and acknowledges the differences between emotional support and wellbeing, implications counselling and therapeutic counselling.

The Fertility Nursing Forum鈥檚 final online seminar of 2024 featuring Oonagh Pickering, Lead Research Nurse at Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research, who led ground-breaking research into the causes and treatments of baby loss and complications to save babies' lives.

Discover how implementing a Women's Health Policy for the nursing and wider health and social care workforce can make a significant impact on employee wellbeing, as well as on your organisation. With the 九游体育 launching their position statement on supporting women’s reproductive health at work, this is the perfect time to think about drafting or refreshing yours.

Aoife Corley, Director of Nursing at ReproMed, provides insights and expertise on how best to support complex cases in fertility and the specialised care and treatment provided, to individuals facing challenges or unique circumstances that may impact their ability to conceive. This can include factors such as advanced high BMI, diabetes, and other conditions that require additional care.

Julie Morgan, MSc, RGN, APM (PFQ) explores immunology in the context of fertility treatments and its alignment with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). This includes consideration of the role of natural killer cells, a key component of the immune system in fertility challenges and treatments.

The 九游体育 Fertility Nursing Forum invited Debi Cale, who is a registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in fertility, reproductive health for men and women, pre-conception and hormones, to discuss the importance of nutrition on a fertility journey. During the seminar Debi focused on foods, vitamins and minerals that will help to support reproductive health for both men and women and gave some great tips that nurses can pass onto their patients. The 九游体育 Fertility Nursing Forum invited Natalie Sutherland, partner at Burgess Mee Family Law, to lead a presentation on the proposed draft surrogacy bill 'Building Families Through Surrogacy: A New Law', and what this means for those working with patients in clinics as part of a surrogacy arrangement. Natalie took us through the recommendations outlined in the Draft Bill and how this may change the future of surrogacy law in the UK.
