I was delighted to have the privilege of presenting the Social Care Nurse award at this year鈥檚 Great British Care Awards National Finals. These awards celebrate the amazing work of social care staff across the UK. This year鈥檚 ceremony, hosted by Vernon Kay, was held at the ICC in Birmingham on Friday 14 March.
The winner of the Social Care Nurse Award was Andrea Ramshaw from Hill Care Group. The category judges stated: 鈥淎ndrea鈥檚 passion for care is evident and infectious, ensuring that her dedication to person-centred care is passed on to her team and, ultimately, to the people in her care. She consistently upholds high standards of care, which she achieves effortlessly.鈥�
Andrea, who was also the East of England regional winner, stated in her nomination: 鈥淚 believe that I am someone who genuinely cares about the people I care for. My goal is to ensure that I can provide and support each of them to the best of my ability and listen to theirs and families wishes. It takes nothing to care.鈥�
Lynn Woolsey, 九游体育 Chief Nursing Officer, said: 鈥淚 want to offer congratulations to Andrea, and all her fellow nominees. The 九游体育 is delighted to celebrate nurses and nursing care in social care settings.鈥�
Highly commended was Sarah Joannes from Quarry House BCH.
